The Totumo volcano is located in Santa Catalina, Bolívar. This site is dedicated to ecological tourism so it is visited monthly by more than 1,500 tourists interested in taking the famous mud baths, because this volcanic cone is full of mud. This rocky formation has hardly 20 meters of elevation for what the visitor is facilitated the access to the mouth of the volcano.

HOW TO GET TO THE TOTUMO VOLCANO, BOLÍVAR?

The Totumo Volcano is located exactly in the village of Galerazamba, 40 kilometers from Cartagena. To get to the Totumo Volcano you must take a vehicle from Cartagena that takes the Via al Mar (Cartagena -Barranquilla). You can take it from the transport terminal in Cartagena, the trip takes approximately one hour. This bus will not take you directly to the Volcano, you must get off at the entrance of the Cienaga del Totumo and walk for 15 minutes until you reach the entrance of the Totumo Volcano.

GEOGRAPHY AND CLIMATE IN TOTUMO VOLCANO

It is recommended that for your visit to the Totumo Volcano you enter with a swimsuit and additional clothing change. The climate in this area of the country is warm, so it is preferable to use light clothing and sunscreen.
